In spite of the ultra-modern and technically advanced age in we live, Modern Slavery still remains very much a part of the 21st Century. The severe exploitation of other people for personal, or commercial gain (Modern Slavery), encapsulates a range of mistreatment including slavery, forced or compulsory labour, servitude and human trafficking. In accordance with our values of being caring, inclusive and accountable, Sasol is fully committed to the eradication of modern slavery and human trafficking.
 
The Sasol Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement published every financial year by Sasol and its relevant subsidiaries, is pursuant to section 54 of the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act). We urge all suppliers, in conjunction with the Sasol Code of Conduct, and Supplier Code of Conduct, to adhere to the statement attached (also available on the Supplier Management Ethics web page https://www.sasol.com/suppliers/ethics.)
 
Sasol is committed to its human rights policy in upholding and respecting human rights across all its operations and expects the same from its suppliers. It is important for our suppliers to be aware of human rights risks resulting from their activities, and to take steps to both mitigate (the risks) and prevent the practice from occurring within their businesses and supply chains. Any transgression of human rights will be seen in a very serious light and will be investigated by Sasol as a matter of urgency. Non-compliance in this regard may lead to a range of legal, financial, operational and reputational risks for Sasol and its subsidiaries and suppliers are encouraged to refrain from any such related behaviour.
 
As part of its human rights due diligence process, Sasol will be implementing processes including, but not limited to,  the completion of a due diligence questionnaire by all of its suppliers in order to assess any actual, or potential risk exposure, relating to human rights. Appropriate steps to address, mitigate, prevent and report on human rights infringements will be taken. Our suppliers are required to have policies and practices on human rights, modern slavery, forced labor, child labor, discrimination, harassment, dangerous working conditions, hours of work, unpaid work or any other form of abuse. Furthermore, any of their suppliers, or subcontractors in turn, should also  have policies and practices in place relating to human rights.
