Dear Valued Sasol Supplier,
 
Safety is at the heart of all we do at Sasol. As the number of COVID-19 cases increases across South Africa, we have enhanced our health and safety minimum requirements to safeguard our employees, suppliers and stakeholders. In line with this, kindly take note of the following implemented requirements:
  
Every person entering a Sasol workspace will be required to complete a Self-Assessment and Declaration form specific to that operational area.
 
The following directives for suppliers and their representatives on Sasol Sites will be applicable:
  • Please limit your movement around the site and remain at your designated work area as far as possible.
  • Do not under any circumstances, come to any Sasol workplace if you are: 
a. Feeling ill in any way;
b. Awaiting COVID-19 test results, even if you are not feeling or displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 (i.e. asymptomatic).
  • When using public transport, individuals should comply with the following:
a. In so far as possible, please try to avoid using modes of public transport where social distancing cannot be applied.
b. Always wear a cloth face mask that covers both nose and mouth.
c. Avoid from touching your face before washing or sanitising your hands.
d. Sanitise or wash your hands immediately after using any form of public transport.
e. Before entering the workplace, inform your manager, if you have been exposed to any person, not wearing a proper face mask or someone who has coughed or sneezed near you while using public transport.
f.  Inform your manager of any difficulties you may experience in using or obtaining public transport that affects your risk exposure.
 
 Declaration before entering a Sasol site
 
To ensure all employees, suppliers and visitors take accountability for their health and wellbeing, Sasol has instituted a declaration notice at our building entrances adjacent to our temperature screening stations. This notice serves as an acknowledgement by any person(s) entering Sasol property that they have fully understood and completed the daily self-declaration checklist and that they are not currently awaiting a COVID-19 test result. 
 
Behavioural Non-Compliance 
 
Sasol, as a responsible organisation rooted in care, continues to implement stringent safety protocols and controls to limit the transmission of COVID-19 at our sites as far as possible. Ultimately, the responsibility is on us as individuals, to adhere to the preventative measures aimed at reducing the spread of the virus both at the workplace and in our broader community. So far, measures such as social distancing, mask-wearing, and hand hygiene have proven to be effective in reducing the transmission of COVID-19. However, as the number of COVID-19 cases increases in our communities, we all need to increase our collective commitment to good health, hygiene and social practices to limit the spread of the virus. 
 
We want to urge our suppliers to comply with all rules and regulations, and whenever you find yourself in doubt, to please talk to your Sasol contract owner to avoid any misunderstanding.
 
Please be responsible and remember that the workplace measures in place at Sasol sites are non-negotiable and are there to protect the health, wellbeing and safety of ourselves and others.
